Update from the BBSCI Board
As the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) epidemic continues to grow, the Board are acting with a sense of urgency and responsibility in an effort to minimise the transmission and impact of the virus. In this regard, we ask all members to follow the Department of Health guide to social distancing in all aspects of your life. The health and safety of everyone associated with Brighton Bowling & Sporting Clubs Inc. is of the utmost importance. Consequently, the club is taking the extraordinary step of closing the entire Clubs premises from 5.00pm Wednesday 18th March for initially 4 weeks, to ensure that we continue to manage the risks to members, players, visitors and tenants. These 4 weeks will give the premises time to kill off any existing viruses if they exist, then we can carefully re-integrate our operations after that date to protect patrons and members. All upcoming functions, no matter what the size, have been postponed until further notice. The indoor stadiums will also not be open for use. The Board will be reviewing our decision following this closure period, based on the most up to date information at the time. If we do decide to then re-open the Club at this time, we will continue to do everything we can to uphold the guidelines and advice of the Australian Government Department of Health. This means we will be asking all members, visitors and contractors to adhere to the following: Please do not attend our club if:
In addition:
Please if you are healthy continue to function as normal, including playing bowls. We are not panicking about the Coronavirus and nor should you, but we need to stay informed and educated. The Board will continue to update Club members and visitors throughout the coming weeks as we learn more about the impact of this virus, and we thank all members for their ongoing support and tolerance.
